Dr. Hammond founded CCRS in 2012. She is a Professor and core faculty member in the APA-accredited doctoral concentration in counseling psychology at Tennessee State University. She was awarded the Psychology Department Distinguished Researcher award in 2021 and is a Fellow (Div. 17) in the American Psychological Association. Dr. Broyles joined the CCRS research team in 2014. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at Tennessee State University as well as a State Program Leader (4-H/Youth Development) of Agriculture at Tennessee State University. Dr. Martin joined the CCRS research team in 2012. She is a Professor of Biological Sciences in the College of Life & Physical Sciences. In addition to serving as Co-PI in the CCRS research team, she has been PI on project Tiger Teach - designed to increase the number of biology teachers of Color - and was Co-PI on Tennessee State University's Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation in STEM. Dr. Ranganathan Parthasarathy is currently an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at Tennessee State University and faculty advisor to American Society of Civil Engineers student chapter at TSU College of Engineering. He conducts research in materials and structures and is a registered professional engineer in Tennessee. He is also working on enhancing educational experience and career preparation for undergraduate and graduate engineering students as part of CCRS. Please see his website below.
Dr. Young-Seigler joined the CCRS team in 2016. She is an Associate Professor of Biological Sciences in the College of Life & Physical Sciences. She has served as president of the TSU faculty senate; teaches Biology and Biophysical Sciences courses/labs; is a Co-PI on Project Tiger Teach; and completed her Master's in Counseling Psychology in May of 2021. Jenna is a doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program at Tennessee State University. They received their M.S. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Baltimore and their B.A. in Music and Psychology from Muhlenberg College. The topics of their research have included best practices in counseling supervision, retention in STEM for women and African Americans, and prejudice against those who do not conform to a gender or sexual binary.
Leah is a doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology PhD program at Tennessee State University. She received her M.Ed. in Human Development Counseling with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Vanderbilt University and her B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Trevecca Nazarene University. Her clinical and research interests include minority identity development, supervision and training best practices, and developmental theory for emerging adults.
